What is Juvederm?
Juvederm is a smooth dermal filler created to instantly
smooth moderate to severe facial lines, facial wrinkles and
facial folds around the nose and mouth area. Juvederm is an
injectable gel made from hyaluronic acid (HA).
- HA is a natural compound found in all living cells, it
is what keeps our facial skin soft and supple in appearance.
As we age, we loose some of our hyaluronic acid resulting
in unwanted facial wrinkles and lines.
How does it work?
Juvederm is injected with a fine needle into the area
of concern. Once placed into the skin it will add volume to
the area resulting is smoother lines, and wrinkles.
What can I expect?
The Juvederm facial treatment takes as little as five
to fifteen minutes
- Mild discomfort may be felt during the facial treatment
but will subside after treatment
- The results can last up to 6 months
Are there any side effects?
Most side effects are mild and their duration normally lasts
less than a week.
- Side effects could include redness, tenderness, swelling,
bruising and itching, however they are all rare
Can I resume back to my everyday activity after the facial
treatment?
Yes, many patients go back to work that same day.We ask
that you avoid the following for 24 hours after Juvederm injections
and treatment
- Vigorous activity
- Extensive sun and heat exposure
- Alcohol
- Aspirin related products
